Dear colleagues, friends, compatriots!
Let me congratulate you warmly on the occasion of the World Intellectual Property Day.
Today and every day we take legitimate pride in the people whose effort has created the universally recognized national intellectual capital.
During the 15-year period of functioning of the state system of intellectual property legal protection, every citizen’s constitutional right to their intellectual activity results has been ensured: the regulatory and legal framework in intellectual property field that meets international norms has been created, efficient mechanisms of legal norm realization have been developed and capable infrastructure ensuring realization of the state policy in this field has been formed. This has contributed to creation of the up-to-date intellectual property market and has been one of Ukraine’s steps toward the World Trade Organization. It will thus enable our country to become a competitive state on the world market.
Intellectual property rights protection, of course, remains a topical matter for further successful work. We are delighted to mention that, on the European side’s initiative, the European Patent Office (EPO) is moving to a new level of cooperation with Ukraine from 2008, and within its framework Ukraine is considered as a potential EPO member. Ukraine’s future accession to the EPO will be the first step on its way to the integration to the European Union.
There is no doubt that intellectual property, which is indeed your boundless creativity and innovative activity, support progressive development in each and every field of national economics, guarantee successful and social reforms, maintain social development and democratic values and stable economic growth.
I sincerely wish that you, your colleagues, associates and partners always feel that you live and work in the country where every person’s creative achievements are highly appreciated. Let Ukrainian INTELLECT expand and the state prosper.
I wish you inspiration, constancy and satisfaction from your work.
Sincerely,
Mykola Paladiy
