Don’t miss the unique opportunity to participate in EPO free virtual seminars
In the list of Internet addresses of free patent databases which can be found in the sub-section “Free Foreign Databases” of the section “References” on SDIP web-site the information about European Patent Office’s digital library esp@cenet is put in the main place. This database contains, in particular, patent documentation of European Patent Organization member states, complete specifications of the 2 latest years of publication, information about patent families and legal status from INPADOC database and patent documentation of the world’s leading countries with considerable backdating depth.
EPIDOS (European Patent Information and Documentation Systems) Training Centre, the EPO structural unit, holds regular training seminars on a wide range of topics relating to the patent system as a whole and patent search in particular.
Besides “classical” classroom based training, the EPIDOS Training Centre is currently expanding its activities towards computer and web-based training. Experienced specialists in the field of intellectual property, as well as novices can, directly from their working places, take part in a seminar guided by the EPO expert tutors. Participants can ask questions, make comments and even pass notes to the moderator and other students.
EPIDOS offers seminars tailored for those who carry out or only intend to carry out search in esp@cenet database. The topics of the seminars are as follows: "Introduction to esp@cenet®; esp@cenet® for advanced users; esp@cenet® for SMEs"; "Classification systems"; "INPADOC Data on esp@cenet®"; "Intellectual Property on the Internet".
The useful information and first–hand advice from EPO professionals may prove useful during the work with other databases. The seminars are conducted in English; their duration is 2 hours. It is better to register beforehand because the number of participants is limited.
All virtual classroom seminars are free of charge.
Your system requirements:
It should be noted that at present the seminars are offered in two “blocks” – spring and autumn one. That is why you should not postpone it, since the spring block is coming to a close (the last seminar will take place on April 21, 2005), and the next one will start approximately in October 2005.
There you can also register to participate in the event.
